When the time comes around to start thinking about booking your annual holiday a lot of thought focuses on the destination, but what about the holiday accommodation options? Obviously if you are booking pre packaged holidays then you are of course restricted to the brochure option for the most part, but a lot of holidaymakers are now enjoying the freedom and flexibility of building their own holiday packages. This of course naturally opens up a whole new range of accommodations options especially on popular holiday destinations such as Lanzarote for example, which is well geared up for the independent tourist and boasts a selection of private Lanzarote villas and apartments that is second to none.Lanzarote Villa prices are exceptionally affordable when you start to dig a little deeper as in most cases there are no under occupancy charges, so you can choose larger accommodation if you which (and often at comparative prices). And you won’t be restricted to having any member of you holiday party having to sleep on a pull out bed in the lounge either. Let’s face it, it’s your holiday so why put up with the discomfort just because the package holiday firm is trying to squeeze every last penny from their clients.
Equally the location of many of the private villas on the island does not revolve around access considerations, so you don’t necessarily have to choose one that is on the transfer coach route from the airport. You can of course still stay in the resort of your choice, but in far more peaceful surroundings away from the hustle and bustle that is synonymous with the more central locations.Personally I find there is nothing more enjoyable than finding a nice restaurant for an evening meal and then enjoying a gentle evening stroll back to a warm and welcoming villa. One big bonus is that the money you will probably save on accommodation will go a fair way to paying for a hire car during your stay. Lanzarote car hire is incredibly cheap (and long may it stay that way), which means that you could even go further afield and rent a very reasonable rural villa in the heart of the Lanzarotean country side, where you could enjoy total privacy and seclusion if you really want to unwind and relax. There is another added bonus to having access to your own transport too. Lanzarote has a plethora of outstanding beaches to enjoy which are well of the beaten track, such as Papagayo and Famara. And you’ll also be able to scoot round the island and visit the many museums and amazing creations of Cesar Manrique. If you don’t know who he is check him out on the internet before you arrive, as this will help you add a further dimension to your holiday on the island and help you understand why it remains so unspoilt.Prices of Lanzarote villas will very of course depending on both your chosen location and also the style and size of the villa you rent. Equally Lanzarote villas with pools are also a bit pricier, but that is only to be expected. If you have never rented a Lanzarote villa before then you will be pleasantly surprised by not only the high standards of decor, but also the level of amenities in each villa as well, even in lower priced accommodation. This is primarily due to the fact that many of the villas owners use the villas themselves at various times throughout the year.
Choosing which resort or area to stay in will of course come down to your own holiday preferences, but two popular resorts on the island if your are considering renting a private villa is Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen. Villas in Playa Blanca tend to be the most reasonable from a pricing perspective currently starting at circa 450 or so per week if you are being careful with your budget. But for a little more (around an extra 150 per week) you’ll find that villas in Puerto del Carmen generally are better built and more spacious too.Going independent will give you a lot of extra buying power as opposed to booking package holidays, and the availability of flights to Lanzarote is outstanding, but if you decide booking your own Lanzarote villa is not for you and still decide to go the package holiday route, Lanzarote will still be a holiday to remember, and I’m sure you’ll return for another holiday too.
